EdUHK Self-Nomination Admissions Scheme
Background
The EdUHK Self-Nomination Admissions Scheme is designed for JUPAS applicants with exceptional potential and outstanding talent in music, sports, STEM or visual arts. They can submit their self-nominations to the related JUPAS programmes of the University.
Applicants shortlisted by the respective subject departments will be interviewed in February and June. Students with excellent performance in the interview(s) will be given priority of admission, if deemed appropriate.
Nomination Criteria
Music Major
JUPAS Programme Choice
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Culture (Music) (Four-year Full-time) (JS8636)
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Culture and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Music) (Five-year Full-time) Co-terminal Double Degree (JS8801)
Eligibility
- Put the respective programme(s) of music major as Band A choice(s) in JUPAS;
- Obtain high performance standard in music with relevant qualifications, experiences and achievements;
- Recommended by relevant associations/organisations/schools (optional but preferable).
(Qualifications, awards and achievements in other creative arts such as dance, visual arts etc. will be considered as an advantage for BA(CAC) applicants.)
Physical Education Major
JUPAS Programme Choice
Eligibility
- Put Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Physical Education) (JS8325) as Band A choice in JUPAS;
- Demonstrate high sports performance standard in a major sport, such as:
- Current/former Hong Kong National Squad member
- Current Hong Kong Junior Squad member
- Elite athlete in Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation
- Elite athlete in University Sports Federation of Hong Kong
- Recommended by sports clubs/associations/schools.
Sports Scholarships
- Annual full or half tuition fee scholarships (i.e. HK$42,100 or HK$21,050 per academic year respectively) will be awarded to selected students upon recommendation by the interview panel.
- Hostel accommodation fee will be waived in year 1 subject to availability of hostel place and recommendation by the interview panel.
- The renewal of full or half tuition fee scholarships and hostel accommodation fee waiver^ are subject to the conditions given below:
Conditions for Sports Scholarships Renewal
- A good GPA
- Good performance in sports events organized by the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong (USFHK)
- Good progress in sport training
- Contributions to sports development on campus and beyond as an ambassador
- Recipients who may concurrently receive other scholarships or subsidies. The total amount of scholarships/subsidies awarded for each recipient should not exceed the annual programme tuition fee of the year in accordance with the University’s policy.
^Note: To be eligible for hostel accommodation fee waiver in year 2 and thereafter, scholarship recipients are required to fulfill the Sports Scholarships renewal conditions and successfully get a hostel place in the respective year.
STEM Majors (ICT/ Mathematics/ Science)

- Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Secondary) - Information and Communication Technology (Five-year Full-time) (JS8361)
- Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Secondary) in Mathematics (Five-year Full-time) (JS8391)
- Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Science) (Five-year Full-time) (JS8430)
Eligibility
- Put the respective STEM-related programme(s) as Band A choice(s) in JUPAS;
- Obtain high performance standard in respective STEM areas with relevant achievements;
- Recommended by relevant associations/organisations/schools (optional but preferable).
Visual Arts Major

- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Culture (Visual Arts) (Four-year Full-time) (JS8648)
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Culture and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Visual Arts) (Five-year Full-time) Co-terminal Double Degree (JS8813)
Eligibility
- Put the respective programme(s) of visual arts major as Band A choice(s) in JUPAS;
- Obtain high performance standard in visual arts with relevant qualifications, experiences and achievements;
- Recommended by relevant associations/organisations/schools (optional but preferable).
(Qualifications, awards and achievements in other creative arts such as dance, visual arts etc. will be considered as an advantage for BA(CAC) applicants.)
Nomination Methods
Please complete the self-nomination through the following procedures:
Before you proceed to fill in the nomination form, make sure that the following information is available:
- Put the respective JUPAS programme(s) as their Band A choice(s);
- Read through the Nomination Criteria and complete the Online Form;
- Upload ALL relevant supporting documents in ONE PDF file (maximum of 15MB) via the Online Form:
- Proof(s) of the achievements in music / sports / STEM / visual arts;
- A personal statement;
- Recommendation letter(s) from relevant clubs/associations/schools.

Important Dates
- Applicants are required to complete the self-nomination procedures by 5 January 2021.
- Selected applicants will be invited to admission interviews to be held in February or June. Please click here for the up-to-date interview schedules. If an applicant has not been invited to the interview(s) in the above-mentioned period, he/she should NOT assume that his/her JUPAS application is not being considered.
- However, if selected applicants do not attend the interview(s) in the above-mentioned period which are specially arranged for them but attend the interview(s) with other applicants after the release of HKDSE examination results in July, they will no longer enjoy the privilege of admission priority given by the Self-Nomination Admissions Scheme.
