The qualifications listed below are accepted as satisfying the General Entrance Requirements for our bachelor's degree programmes. Qualifications not listed below will be considered on individual merits. Applicants are normally required to complete Grade 12 studies on a full-time basis in high school and they may also need to fulfill the language requirements and/or programme specific requirements. Due to quota limit, applicants having satisfied the University's entrance requirements will be considered for admission on a competitive basis. Eligible applicants will be requested to attend interviews for further assessment. Holding minimum requirement does not guarantee admission to the University.

Note 1:
VWO is a university preparatory education, covers six years and takes three forms, Atheneum, Gymnasium and ongedeeld (unified) VWO.

The Gymnasium and Atheneum offer two streams of VWO education. A-stream emphasises the humanities and B-stream the sciences. The unified VWO makes no distinction between the two branches. The Atheneum has a common curriculum for the first three years of VWO, the Gymnasia has a common curriculum for the first three or four years. In the final two years of the course, students mainly study the even subjects in which they will take the final VWO examinations. Five subjects are compulsory at the Gymnasium and Atheneum, two or three are compulsory for the unified VWO programmes.

At the end of the final year, students take examinations in seven subjects. The examinations comprise two parts; school examinations, set by the school, are taken in all subjects throughout the year, and there are national examinations which are taken in May or June.

* Applicants with non-local qualification seeking admission to programmes with English as the medium of instruction will be exempted from the Chinese Language requirement on a case-by-case basis. For programmes which require students to have possessed a good command of Chinese including BEd (Chinese Language) and BA in Language Studies (Chinese major), waiver of Chinese Language requirement will not be granted.
